I've realized recently why I enjoy writing so much. I can say whatever I want, however I want without sounding like an idiot. When I have conversations with people sometimes i don't think before I speak. And with writing, I can write down exactly what I'm thinking and fix it to sound the way I want to. Correct my errors and publish when I feel like it.
I can leave a post unpublished for a while. Sometimes I'll work on one, let it sit there, publish another and then continue back working on the first one.
It also helps me learn. I never did well in high school, and I don't remember anything I learned while I was there. I never went to college and I don't have an extensive vocabulary. Writing and reading has helped all this. If I don't know a word, I look it up and thats one more word added to my list. One more word I can use on a daily basis, or at least if someone says that word I won't look at them with crazy eyes. "ughh wat'd ya say?"
I don't think me and punctuations are ever going to see eye to eye. I try to use them as best i can, but I'm never sure i put the commas in the right spot. I'm positive most of my paragraphs aren't even paragraphs and continually include run on sentences. Oops.
I'm learning, slowly but surely. I just officially learned how to use there and their. I still may fuck it up every once and a while but now at least i know how to use them somewhat correctly. I blame it on being such a gypsy growing up.
i know what you mean. i dont consider myself a good writing, i've struggled a big with vocabulary, spelling and punctuations. I try not to get to crazy with writing, however, i cannot help but want to double check everything and figure it out. i'm still not perfect but hey, it's me!
ReplyDeletehaha true statement. I just always picture other people reading my blogs and thinking "Did she pass elementary school?"

haha. i only say that because i moved around so much growing up. and i may or may not have missed a few important school semesters.
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way! I love being able to sit and think about how I want to phrase things, because in "real life" I always have trouble thinking on my feet. Well said : )
